Fintonic Credit Card
THE PROJECT
Fintonic, initially a personal finance manager, sought to extend its value proposition by launching a Mastercard-backed credit card. The aim was to increase user engagement and make the product a more frequent part of users’ financial routines. The credit card was designed to offer transparency, rewards for responsible usage, and integrated financial education, driving both engagement and financial empowerment.
THE OBJECTIVE
The primary goal was to design an intuitive and user-friendly experience for the new Fintonic credit card. The card needed to provide clear benefits such as no annual fees or hidden charges, while encouraging responsible financial behavior through financial education and rewards for good usage.
CREATIVE PROCESS

Research.
The team conducted a thorough analysis of Fintonic users’ financial habits to identify pain points and opportunities for engagement. This research included user feedback, competitive analysis, and user interviews to understand what features would drive trust and frequent usage.

User Journey Mapping.
The user journey was carefully mapped, from the initial credit card application process to expense management, payments, and real-time credit tracking. The goal was to seamlessly integrate the credit card within Fintonic’s existing app ecosystem.

Wireframing & Prototyping.
Wireframes and interactive prototypes were created to explore the user experience across key touchpoints. Focus areas included a streamlined onboarding process, personalized financial advice, and real-time spending and rewards tracking.

Iterative Testing.
The product was initially launched to a “friends and family” group to gather valuable feedback. This allowed the team to refine and improve the credit card experience based on real user insights before the wider rollout.
THE SOLUTION

The final design of the Fintonic credit card experience delivered:

  • A no-annual-fee credit card with a clear breakdown of interest rates and no hidden charges.
  • Personalized financial tips integrated into the app, offering advice on how to maximize the benefits of the card, improve credit scores, and manage spending more effectively.

FINAL IMPACT
