Epicentro
Overview
Epicentro is a cultural space I founded in Mexico City to explore the intersection between art, design, and community. It began as an independent initiative and evolved into a platform for immersive experiences, film screenings, workshops, and listening sessions. My role spans branding, spatial design, content curation, and event production — blending strategy with cultural experimentation.
The Challenge
The goal was to create a space that felt personal, inclusive, and creatively charged — something between a microfestival and a cultural lab. The challenge lay in designing a brand and experience ecosystem that could support a variety of formats (cinema, workshops, music, exhibitions) while staying true to a common identity: community through culture.
Design Approach
1
Building the Brand Identity.
I created the name, visual language, tone of voice, and communication system for Epicentro. The brand is intentionally minimal yet flexible, allowing the content and community to take center stage while still being recognizable and cohesive across formats.
2
Designing Experiences.
Each event is designed as an experience — including curated film cycles like Fiebre del Videoclub, a selection of retro and cult films that explore nostalgia through aesthetics and storytelling, and Experientia, a selection of sensory and immersive cinema meant to be felt as much as seen. I developed narratives, playlists, visuals, and spatial interventions to create an atmospheric and memorable setting.
3
Curating Culture & Community.
Curation is central to Epicentro. I program films, invite collaborators, and design workshops that reflect diverse perspectives — with a focus on inclusion, accessibility, and emotional resonance. Each cycle or event is an opportunity to connect people through shared meaning.
Key Design Decisions
  • Modular brand system, adaptable across digital and physical assets.

  • Narrative-based curation, linking each experience to a theme or story.

  • Community-first ethos, prioritizing safe, inclusive and intimate formats.

  • Multi-format execution, from poster design and merch to spatial layout and lighting.

FINAL IMPACT
Epicentro has hosted over 50 cultural events, building a loyal creative community in Mexico City. Beyond an event series, it’s become a cultural container — where design is not just aesthetic, but a tool for connection, experimentation, and belonging. The project continues to evolve through collaborations, residencies, and new formats.
