Fintonic Credit Card
OVERVIEW
As part of Fintonic’s product expansion, I led the design of a Mastercard-backed credit card experience focused on driving engagement and building financial trust. The goal was to increase app usage and embed the card as a core part of users’ financial routines by offering transparency, smart incentives, and an experience tailored to user needs.
THE CHALLENGE
We set out to design a credit card experience that felt intuitive, trustworthy, and aligned with Fintonic’s mission of financial empowerment. The challenge was to deliver clear benefits — such as no annual fees or hidden charges — while incentivizing healthy financial habits through personalized tools, educational insights, and rewards for responsible use.
This required deeply integrating the credit card into the app’s existing ecosystem, ensuring a seamless journey from onboarding to daily expense management and real-time credit tracking.

Understanding Financial Behavior.
We conducted interviews and analyzed Fintonic users’ financial routines to uncover trust barriers and discover what features would truly drive ongoing engagement. This included competitive analysis and real user feedback loops.

Mapping the End-to-End Journey.
We mapped the full user flow — from application to spending and rewards — identifying key moments to deliver value while maintaining a seamless experience within Fintonic’s broader ecosystem.

Designing & Testing the Experience.
Interactive prototypes were developed to explore smart onboarding, contextual financial tips, and real-time tracking. We launched an initial pilot with a close group of users to gather insights, iterate on messaging, and refine the experience before public rollout.

FINAL IMPACT
The credit card became a key driver of user engagement, transforming Fintonic from a financial manager into a more essential tool. The integration of smart education, clear terms, and rewards encouraged better financial habits — resulting in higher retention and frequency of use. This positioned Fintonic as a more complete and trusted personal finance platform.
